MORE TH>N DOES MORE TO PROTECT HOMEOWNERS
Leading home insurer MORE TH>N is improving its home insurance policy by increasing its standard cover limits to provide even more protection to homeowners.
From this week, MORE TH>N is increasing the total contents cover under its home insurance policy from £60,000 to £75,000, immediately giving customers 25% extra cover.
In addition, new and existing customers will now benefit from £2,000 of cover for plants (up from £1,000) and £2,000 of cover for outdoor contents such as garden furniture and children’s toys (up from £750).
David Pitt, head of home insurance at MORE TH>N, commented: “Customers expect their insurer to protect them from under-insurance. By raising our cover by 25% and increasing the limits for plants and outdoor contents, MORE TH>N customers can rest assured that we are doing everything we can to help make sure that they’re fully protected, now and in the future.”
Low inflation coupled with a stable economy has led to increased consumer spending on items such as electrical goods and kitchen and bathroom improvements. 80% of people now own a DVD player, just ten years since they were first produced, and already 10% have iPods just four years after launch. The total value of people’s home contents has increased simply because they have a lot more possessions, and MORE TH>N has moved to reflect this by enhancing its standard cover limits.

According to figures from MORE TH>N a typical family home has £1,510 worth of garden furniture, £400 of garden tools and £360 of sports/hobby equipment in a shed or garage that can often be left outside in a garden.
MORE TH>N calculates its premiums based on a combination of factors reflecting each customer’s own individual circumstances e.g. the type of property they live in and the number of bedrooms it has. This way it is able to charge competitive prices and give the peace of mind of £75,000 worth of cover.
